Sending Units
Unlike dipsticks, sending units allow you to continuously monitor
your fuel level without having to stop and check manually.  Unlike
traditional "float" style senders, our sending units utilize no moving
parts; rather, they measure the capacitance of the fuel between an
inner and outer tube.  The measurement (in ohms) is then sent to
the gauge and is converted into a visual display of the fuel level.
Because the senders do not have moving parts they are ideal for
use in racing applications.

To accommodate the different styles of gauges and displays we
stock a variety of sizes and ohm ranges that are compatible with
nearly all stock and aftermarket gauges/displays.  Additionally, we
calibrate and test every sending unit prior to shipment and
guarantee them to work upon arrival.
*Additional senders with ohm ranges can be custom ordered as well.  They include:
- 10/180
- 76/6
- 100/6
- 0/30
**All senders must be re-calibrated if shortened from original length.

Sender/Gauge Compatibility

Before purchasing a sending unit it is critical to know what type will work with your gauge.  There are two types of sending units we
offer, 2-wire (2-terminal) and 3-wire (3-terminal).  Although they both measure fuel level the same way, they differ in how the unit is
powered (and hence, the number of terminals on the unit).  With 2-wire senders the Send terminal both powers the unit and transmits the
signal to the display.  However, with 3-wire senders the power is received from a separate terminal (Pos) independent of the send signal.
