Fabricator/Welder

 Responsibilities
Harmon Racing Cells' welder will be able to take a 2D CAD, or PDF drawing and lay it out on a sheet of metal, mark up, cut the pieces out and weld it together producing a 3D of the drawing. 
Exact measurement of the finished product is a must.  Angles, dimensions, and plate location must be exact.  Racers have tight spaces for their fuel cells and can not afford 1/8" off in any direction.
  •        Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
  •        Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  •        Setting up components for welding according to specifications

Duties


Duties will include but not limited to: 
  • Keeping on task, if not ahead of schedule.
  • Coordinate production workflow for each order
  • Plan and prioritize orders to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Determine  raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of Fuel Cell
  • Maintain a clean and organized area.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Keep inventory at minimals and let supervisor know when it is low.
  • Notify Supervisor of any inventory that is low
  • Notify Supervisor of any machinery malfunctions

Qualifications

Qualifications are a minimum of:
  •         Proven experience as welder
  •         Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG,)
  •         Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  •         Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  •         Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  •         Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  •         Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  •         Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  •         Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment    
Physically healthy,
  •       stamina for long hours of standing,
  •        having manual dexterity skills to work with small parts
  •        ability to lift 50 pounds 
  •        Able to work in uncontrolled environment of 40-100 degrees depending on weather conditions.
     
Strong communication skills
  •        Able to read and write English to deliver information to management and coworkers, 
  •        Able to understand technical documentation and cad drawings.
  •        Good math and analytical skills for converting and reducing fractions, and decimals.
  •        Accurately read and measure with a tape measure, drywall square, ruler and angle finder.
  •        Understanding for the use of quality control and follow the guidelines.
